I'd never read a romance novel by Julie Beard before so I didn't quite know what I was expecting. What I got was a delightful enough novel with a few surprises in it. One thing I liked about this book is that the heroine, Livie, is much older than her lover, Will Barnes. That is almost unheard of in the romance novel world. Also, there is a decent little murder mystery all wrapped up in it too, making it suspenseful enough to keep it interesting (though I knew who the real murderer was long before it was brought to light; nothing to gasp over and be dumbfounded).
Another thing I liked was how the couple got together intimately within the first 50 pages, so there is no waiting around till the middle of the book waiting to read some action finally taking place (admit it you hate it sometimes). All in all this was a good romance to get yourself into, but I don't think it's something I'll ever read again.
