Book Reviews of The Fellowship of the Ring (The Lord of the Rings, Part 1)Book Review: A wonderful productive begining Summary: 5 StarsThis book is excellent! It is about a Hobbit called Frodo Baggins who is related to the Hobbit Bilbo Bagins from the Hobbit. He is wisked off by Gandalf the wizard to go and destroy the magical ring that Bilbo once owned. Though the language is hard to understand, and it will take a while to get through, I believe that it is suitable for people above the age of eleven. I am thirteen and am enjoying the booke emensly. Five Stars!
Book Review: Fantastic, Timeless, Gripping, Yarn Summary: 5 StarsA really excellent book which you can't put down - be transported to the most imaginative part of your mind. Darker in content than the hobbit but perfectly tied in with the books before and after.
Book Review: The one book you've gotta read Summary: 5 StarsWell it's been almost 20 years since I picked up my first copy and more than any other this is the book I've read and passed on to friends to show them what fantasy is all about.Tolkien is the reason why fantasy books are on the shelves. The original and still the best. There's nothing can be said that can begin to clue you in on the strength of the writing except the fact that it's practically out sold the Bible. There have been so many books written about these books that no review will do. You've just gotta read this book. The characters following on from The Hobbit carry the story to your imagination where you will keep them - always.
Book Review: Not as enchanting as I was led to believe Summary: 1 StarsDue to the supposed enchanting nature of this book I was very excited at the start of my read. Waiting for these magically parts of the book, I continued to trawl through it...deeper and deeper I searched for anything that remotely seemed interesting but alas it was not to be found. I do not wish to slate the book as due to its continued success it is clear it is popular, but I promote my view of an over exaggerated fairytale with little enchantment
Book Review: WOW Summary: 5 StarsThis book is totally brilliant! I have to admit that it was hard to get into, but once you get past what i thought was a slow beginning, you find a completely spellbinding book. I have not been able to put it down since. If the film is anything like the book, then it should go down as one of the greatest films of all time! This is definitely a fanstical book, Tolkein is a genius.
