Book Review: A rollercoaster ride through the world of mafia lawyers
Summary: 5 Stars

Apart from The Rainmaker, Grisham has never matched the standard of this book. Law students about to start work will relate 100% with the lead character who doesn't really know what to expect from working in a law firm. The book starts off optimistically and makes potential lawyers feel like they're going into the best profession in the world. This was the first book to capitalise on the idea of a highly ethical young law student, entering the low on ethics world of practice. The clash is great, and all through the book you are left questioning whether the lead character should let his ethics prevail, or go along with the corrup firm and enhance his career. Most lawyers will be faced with such a dilemma in their careers, although not to such an extent. If you're a law student, the book will either put you off the idea of practice, or inspire you - it doesn't leave room for abstaining - that's what makes a good book. (ps - it inspired me!)
