Book Review: Writers shove their beliefs down your throat.

Recently being married I have been reading a lot of newlywed books. I was looking for general ones that weren't religion specific and this one seemed like a good pick.
The first section was pretty informative, talking about how men and women think differently. There were some comments that hinted at religion but I could get past it and thought this was just something that was a part of the authors lives and it worked as an example. I tried to take the advice without getting hung up on the biblical comments.
But the next sections just continued to get worse. They aren't very open-minded or geared to different types of couples. They preach their own beliefs and don't show a different view. They say porn is satan. They go on for pages about their thoughts on abortion. (why is that necessary in a marriage book? isn't abortion usually an issue for non-married people?) Even small comments ticked me off like when they say a pregnant women who doesn't want sex should should make it her duty to still please the husband in other ways. A lot of their views are very stereotypical saying husbands need sex all the time to be happy.
They mention sex in almost every paragraph, and yes sex is an important part of marriage but there is a lot more that needs to be addressed. Other books I have read have really covered all the bases from finances, setting up a home, friends/family relations, etc. This book basically just gives the message believe in god and your marriage will be just fine and full of lots of sex. Sex and god, sex and god. It gets really old and annoying.
I was very dissapointed because nothing led me to believe this was such a religious based book until I was already reading it. The title should have referenced god, or spiritual/religious something to let people know. There are far better books out there that answer people's questions without trying to question their lives. So it is probably a good book for people who want a church based approach. But the authors shouldn't have been so sneaky to pass it off as a general help book to people who don't want to listen to their preaching.
A far better marriage helper is "The Nest Newlywed Guide".
