Book Reviews of The Five People You Meet in HeavenBook Review: Five People You Meet In Heaven Summary: 5 StarsI am not a great lover of fiction and am often disapointed by all the hype surrounding a book, but I decided to give this short novel a try. The Five People you meet in heaven is not a sentimental journey as the title and other reviews suggest, but a fascinating fictional account of the harsh realities and consequences of life that are so often romantically glossed over. It certainly makes you wonder who your five people would be.
Book Review: My favourite book Summary: 5 StarsI saw 'The Five People You Meet In Heaven' about a year ago in my local library, and thought it looked fairly interesting. It promises to change your beliefs about the afterlife, and, having become a Christian only a few months before I smugly thought, 'that's not going to happen.' But it did- although I may not believe that this is going to happen after we all die, it was lovely to think that it was possible, and that my life might be explained to me after I had finished living it. It immediately became my favourite book because it made me laugh one minute and cry my eyes out the next, and contained just the most original and beautiful philosophy. I was, I'm ashamed to say, extremely disappointed to see it on the bestsellers list, simply because it becomes ever so slightly less special if so many other people love it too!
Book Review: The Five People You Meet In Heaven Summary: 5 StarsThis book has completely changed the way I look at life and death. I read it within the space of a few hours one evening recently and can honestly say that I have never enjoyed a book as much, or been as engrossed as I was with this wonderful creation. Every page was inspiring and I often found myself commenting aloud as I eagerly turned the pages. I was so moved as I read the last page that I wept.
Book Review: 'The' book to read, heaven itself in literary terms. Summary: 5 StarsI received 'The Five People you meet in Heaven' as a gift on Christmas day. By Boxing day I had finished one of the best reads this year. The story centres around a character called Eddie who has died early on in the story and journeys through the afterlife learning a lesson from each of the five people he meets on the way. The lessons Eddie learns are profound ones for all of us to take on board - revealing and enlightening yet challenging and stirring. Words that make you stop and think and then go back and read again. This book is not just the story of a character from the author's imagination or life, but a story that impacts into the lives of those that read it, so that the readers own story and emotions rise up in the midst of reading about another. One of the reviews on the back of the book states that this book is 'a gift to the soul' and it certainly is. I challenge you to read this and remain unchanged by such an outstanding piece of writing.
Book Review: One of my favourite books of all time Summary: 5 StarsI am a big reader - and this has to be one of my favourites. Although obviously fictional, it made me smile at the thought of my 5 people I'd meet if and when I go to heaven. It is a very light read, with short chapters, but definately worth buying! It is all about the afterlife of an old man who dies after an accident at his theme park when trying to save a little girl. He goes up to heaven and meets his "5 people". He learns about why they were really in his life, and his meaning to them. The one question he keeps asking while he is in heaven is if he saved the little girls life... well there is only one way to find out - BUY THIS BOOK!!!
