Book Review: A Good Companion To The XBOX Game!

This is the second installment of the Halo novel trilogy. I loved the first book, THE FALL OF REACH, this novel pretty much follows the action in the first Halo XBOX game. In THE FLOOD, if you like action and near incessant warfare, there is plenty of it here. You can't read more than three or four pages without something violent occurring. The Flood is vicious, never mind what the Covenant is up to! Compared to the first novel in the trilogy this one seems much more superfical, with it's nearly unending parade of violence, and interpersonal relationships take a back seat here. Nevertheless, it IS part of the trilogy and worth reading, to learn the details of what is really behind the XBOX Halo games, written in an easy to read style, if somewhat shallow.
