Book Review: Charles Stanley is a heretic who ignores and disobeys Jesus!!

I have read Charles Stanley's book and find his theology so heretical that it doesn't even rate the title of JOKE. First, he gives an unscriptural definition of forgiveness that he makes up: "Forgiveness, then, involves three elements: injury, a debt resulting from the injury, and a cancellation of the debt." But Jesus himself gave the four distinct steps of forgiveness in Luke 17:3 when He commanded the following: "If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; if he repent, forgive him." These simple IF - THEN instructions mirror how the sinner comes in repentance and belief to God and receives forgiveness and a reborn spirit. On page 127 (top of page) Mr. Stanley openly flaunts Jesus Christ when he gives the following warning to what he must consider truly stupid and ignorant Pew-Sitters: "We must never confront in order to force another to ask for our forgiveness." Mister Stanley, you are defying and arguing with the Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus commanded that if somebody sins against you, you are to rebuke him for exactly that purpose - to solicit repentance and a request for forgiveness. In appendix B at the end of the book, Mister Stanley gives his own, un-scriptural, step-by-step procedure to forgive those who sin against you. I paraphrase - so if you want the entire Appendix B, email me at [...] and I will send it. First, you sit alone in a room with two empty chairs. You sit in one and talk to the other empty chair - pretending the sinner is sitting there. Next, you ask the Holy Spirit to bring to your mind every person who has ever sinned against you and one at a time (Stanley tells you to go ahead and cry) tell the chair that you forgive all of those persons. He gives you a couple of un-scriptural prayers that confuse the issue even more. Sadly, most Christians view this twisted and un-scriptural process of forgiveness that Charles Stanley is selling as scriptural, when actually it is a complete lie and outrageous twisting of the Scriptures. There are several Bible verses (Matthew 6:14-15, Ephesians 4:32) in which we are commanded to forgive our brothers and sisters as God has forgiven us. That is the "WHAT" of forgiveness. Jesus gave us the "HOW" (the four step process) in Luke 17:3. Mister Stanley completely ignores Jesus and instead uses feelings and psycho-babble to create a structure of lies to fool the average, ignorant Pew-Sitter - putting him/her back under bondage to sin.
