Book Review: great book!
Summary: 4 Stars
i'm not gonna bother with a summary since you can see that in a lot of the other reviews. i listened to this as an audiobook (full-cast audio.) The voice actors were pretty good and overall it was a decent performance. i'd give it 4 1/2 stars. there's even a bonus monologue by Shannon Hale at the end.
the reason i give the book 4 stars is because the beginning was rather slow and i really disliked the queen. i was also very skeptical about some of the events while reading the book (mainly, why are people so afraid of animal talkers to the point where Ani's mom prettymuch rips Ani's birthright away from her and exiles her to a foreign country? (to be the foreign country's queen, but still...) why would all the soldiers agree to pretending there is a war when they know it will destroy their country, home, families, friends and loved ones??? also it kinda bugged me that EVERYONE in one country has brown hair to the point where anyone with blonde hair is considered immediately a foreigner.. but, i'm a notorious nitpicker so don't mind me too much...)
this is a great book for boys, girls and adults alike. I'd definitely recommend the audiobook to anyone!

I couldn't put this book down. I'm usually not one for this genre, but I devoured this book in less than three days. Lovely in every way. I can't wait to read the rest of this series!
