Book Review: An enterntaining read

Disclaimer: I read this book without reading the previous two installments in the series. It was reasonably easy to get into, in the middle of the action, and references to the past throughout the first half of the book made it easy to fill in most of the holes.
The book is imaginative, with an original alternative history world, described in a convincing (IMHO) manner. It reminds me of the Hearts of Iron game series. I had only two gripes with the book: 1) it jumps around a lot between disconnected story lines, and 2) the author has absolutely no clue about Russian language, his "russianisms" come across as comical at best. Other than that, a good read. I recommend it. I plan to get the remaining books in the series.
