Book Reviews of The Hellbound HeartBook Review: One of the most imaginary books I ever read. Summary: 5 Stars
When I first glanced at the cover, I thought that I would notlike the book. When I had bought the book from the bookstore, I wassurprised. The first ten pages tell you that the book will be good. Although this book is gory and contains a few scenes of sexuality and eroticism, it still has some scenes of imagination. These are on of the reasons I like Clive Barker. He creates creatures beyond the human mind. For example, the demons from hell, led by pinhead. He combines gory violence with sexuality and imaginative monsters. If your are looking for something bizarre, I would recommend this.
Book Review: Only Clive Barker ... Summary: 5 Stars
Only Clive Barker could write such a short story with such hooks and a vivid imagination.
Great story!
Book Review: PINHEAD IS ONE SCARY DUDE Summary: 4 Stars
IF YOU LIKED THE HELLRAISER FILM SERIES, YOU MAY BE A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED, BUT JUST A LITTLE. tHE BOOK IS VERY SHORT AND GRAPHIC, BUT THE CHARACTERS ARE VERY UNDERDEVELOPED. I AM BARKER'S BIGGEST FAN, SO IT PAINS ME TO SAY THAT I WOULDN'T PAY A WHOLE LOT FOR THE BOOK. TRY WEAVEWORLD AND THE DAMNATION GAME INSTEAD. THOSE CANNOT BE BEAT BY ANY LIVING HORROR WRITER!
Book Review: Pretty good, somewhere between Goosebumps and a real book Summary: 4 Stars
OK, so maybe that title was a little rough. :)
I liked The Hellbound Heart because it was easy to get into, yet it kept my attention without letting me get bored at all. It was a little bit straightforward, but I prefer that than losing track of all the characters in something like Ocean's 11. :p
If you have a 4-5 hour plane flight, this is the perfect way to spend that time. (That's where I read it)
Book Review: Read it at night Summary: 3 Stars
Clive Barker is the poetic horror writer. This book starts out with a bang and continues throughout. Very short book which can be read in one sitting with no problem. Very entertaining, and somewhat thought provoking.
