Book Reviews of The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock StarBook Review: Boring Summary: 2 StarsI thought the book was boring. Perhaps a good scare tactic for those who have never experienced some form of narcotic addiction and is considering the rock star life style. I was hoping this book would shed some light on how to recover from an addiction of his kind. It simply a self-loathing pity party. And in the sick twisted mind of a future addict a how to manual. I was hoping the diary entries would be followed by recovery and coping but I felt he was almost gloating about how messed up his life was. Like it's something to be admired, cuz he was such a bada**. I felt no humility is this book. It was quoted some where by Nikki that this was to hopefully prevent others from taking his path. Perhaps he should've expressed other ways to deal with issues. I don't need to know how to party, I know that, and I'm good at it. What I was hoping for was another perspective on how to stay sober.
Book Review: New insight Summary: 5 StarsWow, loved the band in the 80's and was a huge Nikki fan but after reading the book I have a whole new respect for him. If you loved the Crue this is a must read.
Book Review: sex, DRUGS, and rockin' roll Summary: 5 Stars I'll tell you what-this book has it all. The complete story of how a drug addicted millionaire spent his time and money. Excess was the rule and self entertainment was the goal. And Nikki lived to tell about. Some don't. Read the book and you can see just what the rock world and the money that goes along with it does to some of our most talented musicians.
Book Review: An excellent book. Summary: 5 StarsI loved the book. I purchased it for my nephew thats fourteen years old. I wanted him to find out from somebody that has been through the drug scene. I told him that I do not want him doing the samething. He promised me after rerading the book that he would not. My sister was very happy also. Thank you.
Book Review: Amazing Summary: 5 StarsIn this wonderful yet horrifying memoir of the excesses of the rock n roll lifestyle, Nikki Sixx, the founder of the world's most notorious rock band (Motley Crue), goes into detail about the horrors of his drug abuse. I also recommend the soundtrack, also written by Sixx, which combined with the book, really show his artistic prowess. LONG LIVE THE CRUE!
