Book Reviews of The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star

Book Review: WOW!!
Summary: 5 Stars

The look this book provides into Nikki's life is not easy to put into words. This is an amazing book that shows how far he has come and what a strong person he is to have survived the things he did to him self. I laughed and at times even cried. Drugs and alcohol are very scary and the things one will do to get them are even more frightening. Thank you Nikki for behing so open and honest and i hope this book helps those who need to realize what they are doing to themselves.

Book Review: This rock and roll lifestyle is unbelievable!!
Summary: 4 Stars

I have been a Crue fan since the 80's. I really enjoyed this book and one of the good things about it is it's a daily diary so you can put it down and pick it up whenever you want and not really lose the thrust of the book. One thing I learned is that Sixx is basically the entire brainchild of the band. He wrote the music and the lyrics. If he played all of the instruments he probably could have recorded albums by himself (not taking away from the rest of the band - I think they're great). The fact that everything is coming from his diary gives the wild and crazy stories some credibility. I've read some of other RNR biographies and I just want to know how they can remember stories from 20 years ago in such detail - especially in the state of mind they were in at the time. I can't remember what I did last week in that kind of detail.
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the story gets a little monotonous in the last quarter of the book and the graphics and fonts are very cool, but I found them annoying to read.
If you're a Crue fan - buy this - you won't regret it.

Book Review: Fortune & Fame=Torture & Pain
Summary: 5 Stars

I am and also will be a Motley Crue fan-in an herculean way. I have always loved Nikki Sixx and yes I knew he was the lyrical prodigy of the group. Yet, when I read this book and realized while I was having my 14th surprise birthday bash complete with Nikki Sixx portrait cake-Nikki was hiding in his closet (needle in arm-shotgun in hand).

I could not put this book down. It was deviantly addictive. It was so parasitic, devouring my willpower prohibiting me from carefully walking away . Watching him unravel, yearning for what was brewing inside his infested vortex of an existence. This is the book. Kids, addicts, parents reality for all. This is REALITY puked up in your face as if it was projectile vomitted by Linda Blair herself. I'm sure his shananigans were infamous but he should also be given great nobelity for his honesty. Hey Oliver Stone get typing damn it.

The only misconception I was disappointed to read was the info on Robbin Crosby's AIDS' contraction. I loved Ratt and King will be sadly missed. AIDS is horrendous and it stole my hero-Freddie Mercury; however, with all the promiscuity, swinging, swaping and syringing-disease was mestatisizing in a realm of sexual petry dishes.. All and ALL AWESOME BOOK and NONA is upstairs staring down an angelic goddess with her halo and wings smiling-SO PROUD..

I loved this. A truly great read to hear about what addicts think and go through. Highly recommended.

Book Review: GREAT GREAT GREAT!
Summary: 5 Stars

This was the best book I have read by far. The intimate look into Nikki Sixx's head really makes you feel what he was feeling at the time. I cried at the end of this book, it was that good!
