So far this is one of Keith's better books. This story grabs you from page 1 and doesn't let go until the last page. "The Honeymoon" captures all the emotions involved with relationships, it takes you from the highs and lows that every relationship has. This book also has the suspense added to it that makes you unable to put it down. I found myself saying 'one more page' and before I knew it I had read the book in less than 24 hours.
In here Nelson is engaged to and in love with Parris Stalls. Parris becomes frustrated and wants her riches and lifestyle now. When Parris tells Nelson he will never be a success. Nelson is distraught and goes to Parris' house only to find Parris with a former basketball rival, Shenandoah Armstrong and so goes the story.
This is a perfect fictional depiction of a man's reaction to rejection by a lover and the lengths he will go to prove his lover wrong. Nelson is a very believable character with very real and raw emotions. It was nice to see this man go through some of the mental anguish that most people go through when life takes a turn you weren't expecting. The choices he made are thoughts that all of us have at one time or another to some degree. This is the second book I have read of this author and this has moved me to read his previous books due to some of the characters in this books.
"The Honeymoon is Over" is definitely his break out book and will make a fan of you! This book sets the foundation for a lasting career in the literary field! This is a fun read and thought provoking material that you wont able to put down.
