What a book! I am not usually the emotional type, but this had me sobbing like a baby. The author has created a spot-on mix of adventure, interesting and believable characters, and a heady love story. I am 12 and I picked 'The Horse Whisperer' up when on holidays in Scotland. Looking at it I thought that it would be too hard and difficult for me to read, but I did anyway because I love horses. Instead, the book settled in my heart and I felt like crying when the book ended and Tom died. N. Evans' way of discribing people and the scenes going on around them are out of this world and I think that whatever age you are this book is a must.Book Review: FABULOUS- BREATHTAKING-A MUST FOR EVERYONE

An excellent book. You become totally involved from the outset. It's one of those books that you start to read and can't do anything else until you've finished it. Nicholas Evans describes things in a way that makes you feel like you are in the mountains, it makes you feel like you are struggling to come to terms with the loss of a limb and it makes your heart yearn for the love that goes on between the characters. It's an excellent read and one that everyone should be told about. Keep writing, is all I can say!!!Book Review: This book has got to be the best book of all time!

Nicholas Evans has managed to combine comedy, romance, adventure and drama. He has described the scenes perfectly so you have a clear picture in your head.Perhaps a book for teenagers as there are some sex scenes described, but well done a truly excellent book, even though it was very upsetting in the end when tom died which brought a tear to my eye.
However a definate page turner which you shouldn't miss out on!

I read this book about 3 months ago and i still can't get over how brilliant it was! I am only 14 but this book is certainly the best i have ever read. It takes ages to read but you can never put it down. When i stopped reading it before i went to bed, all i could think of was 'what'll happen next' and 'will she be alright!'. The book is clever in a way that is hard to put accross. The way it is written is a way that i have never seen before in a book. The writer switches from one persons view to another! This only makes the book more exciting.
The only thing i would say about this book is the ending. It is very dissappointing and a little un-fulfilling. You want it to be an ending that will make you feel good and happy that you took the time to read the book but it only fills me with heartache and longing that the ending would somehow magically change. It is a bit of jelousy i suppose because you want to be the character in the book in a way!
When you first start to read the book you think it will just be about the childs recovery but you soon realize it won't when the writer homes in on the english working mother's thoughts and feelings and her longing to feel needed and wanted and loved by someone. She misses her family more than she ever thought she would and finds comfort in the arms of another man. You become jelous of this hunk you have in your mind, this heavenly god of a man that is saving her from insanity.
Buy the book and you'll see what i mean. It's definately a good all seasons type book but best read snuggled up in your bed!...
