Book Reviews of The Horse WhispererBook Review: Being a Horse Lover Has Led Me Astray Summary: 1 Stars
Everything pertinent has been said by other reviewers, I just wish I had read their comments before I got sucked into this book. What a waste of a good story by such bad writing and unbelievable plotting
Book Review: Best Book I Have Ever Read Summary: 5 Stars
I read this book when it first came out. It was the best book I have ever read.Nicholas Evans is to be applauded for his writing style and his ability to capture the reader's interest with such profound words that they stay in your mind forever. You literally cannot put the book down. I've never read a book that captivated me as this one. I have bought several copies and have given them to all of my friends. The movie did not do this book justice. This book gave me an awareness of the possibility of communication with all those creatures great and small. This book changed my life forever.
Book Review: Best horse, cowboy, & city girl story I've ever read!! Summary: 5 Stars
My name is Ashley & I'm 15...I went to see this movie with my mom when it first came out, because we both loved horses & Robert Redford!! I decided to read the book for an english book report...The book was way better than the movie, even if I knew what was going to happen because I had already seen the movie...I cried harder with the book, because I was able to use my own character images instead of the movie stars. In my opinion it's a great book for ages 13-however old because it also deals with a young girl losing a leg, and a mother & daughter relationship. Which by the way brought my mother & I closer together. It's a great book, and I would read the book before I see the movie...have your own experience before Hoolywood gives you there's. Thank You Nicholas Evans!!!
Book Review: Better Than Most Summary: 5 Stars
Although this might have been a typical love story that ends in trajedy (like most great stories of our time) this book has a more modern perspective. I think it has a well developed storyline despite some extras that might have been put in just to make the book longer. But compared to other novels in which I could guess pretty much happens all the way through I found this book to have many suprises and very few disapointments. The characters all seemed to be well developed a put into the story line appropriately. At first I found the ending a little disappointing. But if you think about life is some times disappointing and doesn't always end up as a fairytale. Even though many wish it too be. Each characters personality changes throughout the book to fit the storyline and the other personalities. I think this a great book even if you don't care much for horses.
Book Review: Book magnificent - movie fixes the end. Summary: 5 Stars
My husband and friends and I all read and loved The Horse Whisperer except for the last two chapters. We just saw and loved Robert Redford's magnificent movie and loved all of it - including the end. Nicholas Evans should rewrite the book, copy Robert Redford's conclusion and re-issue the book. All of the characters stay in character and take the high road ethically and morally. Bravo! Just read the book and then go to the movies. What a treat.
