Book Review: Thumbs Up for The Host!
Summary: 5 Stars

I really loved this book. I have read all the books in the her vampires series and I really loved them. I have never actually read vampire or alien type books before but I truly enjoyed it. It was a little bit confusing at the beginning but then I was hooked.

Book Review: Amazing Book
Summary: 5 Stars

I read The Host because I'm a fan of the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer, and even though I thought the premise of The Host sounded a bit odd for my taste, I wasn't exactly crazy about the idea of Twilight until I read it, as well. But I was proven wrong when I began reading. I thought the beginning of The Host was a bit slow and slightly confusing, but then I quickly became absorbed in the story of Wanderer and Jared and Melanie and the hardships of being both a soul and a human. It was an amazing story and I happily recommend it to anyone who is willing to read it.

Book Review: Another great one by Stephenie Meyer
Summary: 5 Stars

If you've read the Twilight Saga then you know how talented this author is. However I didn't realize just how versatile she was until I read this book. I was in QFC buying groceries and again saw this great cover (the cover art of twilight was what first attracted me to the book)and decided to take a look. It wasn't until I had read the preview on the front flap that I noticed the author's name. I had no idea that it was the same author. Alot of authors stick to a certain genre or subject. Dragons, wizards, thrillers, mysteries, romance. Now this book and the Twilight Saga definitely have the unlikely romance in common. The type of love that should be impossible but refuses to be turned away or denied. Other than that and the way the books are written in first person, these stories are as different as night and day. Both are deep, personal and utterly believable. I've read this story 3 times since buying it 2 weeks ago and like the Twilight Saga I find new details, out looks and subtleties that I missed before. Again I highly recommend this book for all readers, even those who aren't so infatuated w/ sci-fi. I'm considering just recommending Stephenie Meyer as an author instead of recommending her work one by one. It's 4 for 4 so far. I can't wait for the 4th installment of the Twilight Saga and I'm also hoping that "The Host" gets a movie offer. And maybe a continuation (Hint Hint)?

Book Review: Fabulous!
Summary: 5 Stars

Another must-read from Stephenie Meyer. This book is everything a first in a series should be. It stands alone as a great story with sufficient resolution, yet leaves just enough unresolved to invite the reader back for the next round. I'm greatly anticipating the rest of the story.

Stephenie Meyer is a wonderful storyteller. This book has a perfect blend of drama and action that I find captivating. The character development is superb. The story is inherently personal- not a story of big alien warships bombing the earth, but of individuals being inhabited one by one, which leads well into a personal story of individuals coming to terms with their new post-invasion world and their own humanity.

Book Review: Great Read
Summary: 5 Stars

I'll admit, the first hundred pages were tougher than expected, but when the story picked up, it was hard to put down. I'll skip the storyline, as many have already given that information.

After reading the three Twilight stories, I have gotten used to her style of writing. Don't expect The Host to read like an action adventure movie. Just like Twilight, The Host is subtle, depending more on the characters thoughts and emotions and interactions than any big drawn out 'everything rides on this' moments.

The characters are genuine and the storyline carries you through the 500 plus pages easily.

I recommend this to anyone who enjoyed Twilight or who enjoys love stories, b/c that is what the Host is at heart.
