Book Reviews of The Husband

Book Review: Excellent Thriller
Summary: 5 Stars

What can I say? The action starts within the first ten pages of this novel, and the grip refuses to let go throughout. Nearly every chapter ends in a cliffhanger, compelling the reader forward. The main character (Mitch) is an everyman, and most readers will feel compassion for his emotional struggle. This book also serves as a great starting point for those new to Koontz. Highly recommended.

Book Review: Get ready for a wild ride that twists and turns!
Summary: 4 Stars

This is only the 2nd Koontz book I have read. Around the 100th page, the book pulled me under and wow what a wild ride it was. This was loaded with twists, turns and great suspense. Mitch owns a small landscaping company. He is working at a clients house when his cell phone rings "We have your wife. You can get her back for $2 million in cash." The twisting begins. There are a lot of surprises in this book. And you think you know the direction the story is going to take you and boom another surprise. Koontz is definitely a unique story teller which sets him apart from other authors. Looking forward to going on another ride.

Book Review: Good Book
Summary: 4 Stars

The book itself is everything I was hoping for, Dean Koontz is a great author. I was a little dissapointed by the quality of the book when I received it. I believe I bought this as a 'like new' condition, however I do not believe it deserves that title. It's not that bad but wasn't what I was expecting.

Book Review: Good Koontz... not great Koontz
Summary: 4 Stars

This book was good but it seemed to lack that certain something his older books had. The action is minimal at best. It seemed to me the hero of the tale didnt really do much struggling with the villians. They would either fall over and acidentally kill themselves or wreck their motorbike and die, leaving Mitch very stunned and ridiculously lucky.

At the end it was as if Koontz just got sick of writing the novel and finished it as fast as possible. It literally went from the abrupt end struggle to five years later and "They lived happily ever after".

Dont get me wrong, I liked it a lot and had I not read lots of Koontz before I would probably have givin this five stars, but his newer work just doesnt do as much for me as his classics. I would recommend this book. Its fun and enjoyable. Just dont expect Hideaway of Phantoms.

Book Review: Good Read
Summary: 4 Stars

Not the best of Koontz but it's up there. Book is an easy read from cover to cover and that's exactly what I was looking for. Something to read on my vacation while laying on the beach or at the park that I didn't have to concentrate too much on or delve too deeply into. Just pleasantly suspensful, entertaining, and fun.
