Book Review: I want to be Notaro's Best Friend
Summary: 5 Stars

Notaro is hi-frickin-funny. This collection of essays had me laughing out loud more than any collection of essays has. I had high hopes for it coming into it and she more than met them.

If you're a kind of quirky, kind of crazy, and sometimes a desperately unhinged sort of girl, you're going to really love Notaro.

Brilliant. I'm sending her a best friend charm in the mail. Because I really, truly do feel like we could be a great (and idiotic) pair.

You'll love her. If you don't it's because you're no fun. And nobody likes you anyway.

Book Review: One of the funniest books I've ever read
Summary: 5 Stars

I read this book a few years ago, but just picked it up again and re-read it, reminding me just how funny and wonderful it is. It's alot like David Sedaris' works, and just as hilarious. There are whole chapters that I read out loud to my husband and we just guffaw and scream with laughter. It'd be a great book to give as a gift, I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't howl with laughter. Laurie Notaro has a great voice and is genuinely funny without trying too hard.

Book Review: Review From An Old Fart
Summary: 4 Stars

I have read Notaro's books out of order. Although this was her first, I read it after a couple of more recent ones. I did enjoy this one and thought some parts were funny, but since I am middle aged and way past the single and young days, I could not like it as much as the others. Now that I have read The Idiot Girls' Action-Adventure Club...I can officially say that I have entered Old Farthood. I found myself shaking my head and clicking my tongue...horrrifying, but true. If only Laurie had written this in the 80's. Anyway, there's a Laurie book for everyone. I'm reading them all!

Book Review: I can sum up this book in one word:
Summary: 5 Stars

"Fun."

Laurie Notaro takes readers for a ride through her young, humorous, whimsical, and self-deprecating world in this collection of humor columns known as "The Idiot girls' Action-Adventure Club." One has to admire a writer willing to report her most embarrassing moments, like the time she got her teeth stuck in a candy apple while behind the wheel of her car and waiting at a drive-through bank.

Her writing is no holds barred-she puts it all out there, purely for the sake of entertainment. On the one hand, this is stream-of-consciousness ranting and/or storytelling, but at the same time, each piece is very well crafted, and leaves the reader with a smile. I say without hesitation, that Notaro is a master of the genre.

Pick it up and put it down at will, it's light reading guaranteed to make you laugh at not only her life, but your own. Highly recommend.

Book Review: Clumsy Fall Into This Book
Summary: 5 Stars

And I was pleasantly surprised!! I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this type of book (short stories) as it's not my usual genre. However, I gave this one a try and promptly returned to Amazon to order three more of her books.

The stories are short, fun and funny! You can just picture some of the things happening and perhaps even picture yourself.

A great time for anyone looking for a laugh, a good time, and an enjoyable read.
