Book Review: Finally a 'good' catholic bible
Summary: 4 Stars
I say good in inverted commas since any catholic bible could be argued to be good. However, this translation follows the lines of the RSV, a modern translation. However, this catholic bible sticks to the traditions of the church and does not use gender inclusive language, such as 'brothers and sisters' but the original 'brothers'.
It includes the apocryphal books that the catholic church see as holy but are not included in your typical bible. Therefore this bible is used in catholic scripture in churches, so is a good all round bible if youre looking for one that isnt clogged with hard to read old language like the douay rheims version.
Misses out on 5 stars because of the american language, ugh. Niceley presented though with a sturdy cover featuring a nice design of the four gospels surrounding Jesus.
