Book Reviews of The InnocentBook Review: Another AAA+++ Effort! Summary: 5 Stars
A couple of years back, I read Harlan Coben's "Tell No One" in one sitting while on the beach for a day in Gloucester, MA. I had never been so riveted by a book, and had never even heard of this author before. I actively seek out his books now, and his latest, "The Innocent", does not disappoint. In his protagonist, Matt Hunter, Coben creates a main character who readers will immediately root for. The story continuously offers new twists and turns, that are impossible to figure out ahead of time. This is a fantastic summer read, and I truly, highly recommend it!
Book Review: Another Amazing Book by Coben Summary: 5 Stars
If you are a fan of Harlan Coben books, you are going to love this one! Probably my favorite so far, this book is impossible to put down. (Don't start it late at night - I almost missed work the next day!) It has great twists, great characters, and just when you think you have it all figured out - BANG - he gets you again!
Run- don't walk - to buy this book!
Book Review: Another Coben Masterpiece Summary: 5 Stars
I only discovered Harlan Coben last year, but I quickly found and read all his novels and his latest effort The Innocent proves that he is indeed one of the top ten authors in the literary world today. Myron Bolitair fans may be a bit disappointed that this isn't another in that great series but there is no doubt Coben writes sensational one off novels as well. In fact to be honest I think his one off books are even better but I realise there will be those who passionately disagree with this statement and this just shows what a great author Harlan Coben is.
In The Innocent Matt Hunter comes out of prison, and nine years since the day he was incarcerated his life looks like having not just turned around but well on the way to bliss. He has a child on the way, a beautiful wife and he's about to purchase a new home. Life's not that easy though and someone sends him a picture of his wife sitting on the bed in their hotel room. Someone is obviously following him, the local cops want him out of town and a policewoman he knew as a child is pursuing the murder of a nun with evidence pointing at him.
If you like Coben and want books written in a similar style also check out the authors Joseph Finder particularly his books Paranoia and Company Man, Brad Meltzer, Max Barry particulalry his book Syrup, (note - his first name is spelt with an extra x for that one) and Jonathan Trooper, especially his books Plan B and The Book of Joe.
Book Review: Another Exciting Story! Summary: 5 Stars
I have been a 'Coben' fan for a while now and usually enjoy his stories BUT with The Innocent-- the joy I usually experience went way past that, I Loved IT! I have read this book twice and intend to read it yet again and again. I think you will agree.
Book Review: Another Gift From A Great Author Summary: 5 Stars
Once again, Harlan Coben continues his reign as the King of Suspense. THE INNOCENT is nothing less than sensational.
In THE INNOCENT, we meet Matt Hunter, a former prisoner convicted for accidentally killing a man, who now seems to finally be on the right track to a happy life. He has a decent paying job, a pregnant wife whom he loves very much, and he is about to move into a wonderful new house. Things really couldn't be going any better until he receives some photos of his wife with another man. The next thing you know, he is running from the police, and to make matters worse, his best friend from school is heading the investigation.
This novel combines a series of plot twists that will keep you guessing. Coben masterminds a superb environmet of characters from dead nuns to missing stippers, just to name a few. As in all of Coben's books, the clever, fast-paced dialogue makes this novel that that much better. You cannot help but be intrigued by the personal battles the protagonist goes through. THE INNOCENT is one fierce ride.
