Book Review: Love It or Hate It

The Invisibles starts off promisingly but quickly becomes chapter after chapter of Alice in Wonderland on sex, drugs, violence and some cod philosophy. For those who like meandering explorations into the dark (read: lots of text and allusions) over a coherent storyline, then the Invisibles may be your cup of tea. Grant Morrison isn't a bad writer but he's never quite knocked me out like Alan Moore has. There are traces of this being a wanna-be Watchmen, and I think this story could have done with more soul. As it is, it's an open ended bloody mess - something I suspect the authors meant it to be. This is not an easy read or even a worthwhile read in some respects. I think I'm chucking out my copy.
