Book Review: A great supplement to traditional therapy!

While the fish oil supplements suggested in this book aren't a "magic bullet" cure to learning disorders, they are a terrific nutritional way to assist learning delayed children. My daughter has symptoms of dyspraxia and sensory integration dysfunction. The supplements have really given her an edge-- she concentrates better, has more coherent speech, is measurably calmer and less irritable, and has a considerably longer attention span. It may not work for everybody, but it's definitely helping my child. As may be commonly known, a sizeable part of the problem with learning delayed children is that they just can't sit still or concentrate without frustration long enough to learn. The fish oil supplements, while tricky to disguise in common foods, have helped her overcome a lot of that problem.By the way, the FDA gave out that slap on the wrist because the company was advertising its product as being helpful for attention deficit disorder. Since the FDA had no scientific evidence of its own to back up that claim, they made said company remove the claim from the label. Consequently, the company decided also to rename the product so as to avoid the stigma associated with the case. No harm was found in the product itself-- it's just a nutritional supplement.
