My son (age 8) was really disappointed in the Avatar books (we purchased all 3) because they look like chapter books but really they are just cartoon books and very basic cartoon books at that.
We love everything Avatar but these books were a waste.
Book Review: comic book

I bought this book for my daughters 6th birthday. She loves Avatar! Especially Aang! I didn't realize that the book would be in comic book form. I expected it to be a regular chapter book. I really like it though because it has all the colorful pictures from the series and I think it is word for word from the series dialoge as well. The pages are colorful and the words are in white thought bubbles with arrows above each characters head and it is just the first episode. I also bought the second episode and it is the same. My daughter is just learning to read and so it is a little difficult for a beginner reader,so I help her with most of it. Or just read it to her. This whole series has proved to be a lot of fun for our whole family. I even like it, and I'm not a big anime fan.
