Book Reviews of The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of AbrahamBook Review: First Impressions Summary: 3 StarsInteresting stuff, but basically it's the old positive thinking and creative visualistion thing. It can't hurt to tune your mind into positive things so maybe thats a good thing. There is a lot of waffle in the book for what is a basic and simple idea but some may find that useful. Does it work? I don't know yet, I'll let you know.
Book Review: Emotionless fast words Summary: 3 StarsPerhaps if the words were a little slower and a little mor emotion put into them then this could have stirred me more. As it is, some editing of the words would have helped, as it sounded like they were trying to cram a gallon into a pint pot, sorry about the lack of metric use and the three star review!
Sometimes you have to admit that what you are listening to is not for your ears, no matter who it is by.
Book Review: Not strictly cosmic ordering Summary: 3 StarsNot strictly a cosmic ordering book, but since it uses the time honoured concept of creative visualisation and positive thinking, I feel it warrants an opinion. So here is my review, as per all my other cosmic ordering reviews.
The methods are very akin to what an athlete will use before carrying out the discipline they run through their mind. In comparison, I would go for Wayne W Dyer's `Manifest Your Destiny: The Nine Spiritual Principles for Getting Everything You Want'.
As similarly as one reviewer put it about Dyer's book, "He offers no evidence to back up his beliefs and has a tendency to make some concepts overcomplicated," so could the same be said of this book, and where the spiritual teachings of Abraham are referred to, then so Dyer relates to Japa meditation.
So it looks like both are evenly matched, and yet it would seem that the public vote has gone to this book. My vote goes to both, if they were mixed into one book!
Book Review: Expresses Law of Attraction in Simple Terms Summary: 4 StarsThe Law of Attraction is expressed in the simplest terms in this book which is an ongoing dialog between Abraham, a channeled guide, and the author, Jerry Hicks. Abraham speaks through Esther Hicks with simple teachings.
The Law of Attraction is described as "like attracting like." So the frequency of your thoughts whether positive or negative attract more of the same vibration to you. By becoming conscious of our thoughts and our beliefs, which are repeating thought patterns, we can gain mastery over our lives. So we are attracting the essence of our thoughts in our lives.
This CD defines success in a unique way: Success can be measured by our achievements but the authors recommend that we measure it by the joy in our life as the standard of success. Material possessions or stuff in our life alone fails to bring joy instead joy brings the highest value on its own not our collection of stuff. This is an important distinction.
Overall I would rate this as an good CD on personal empowerment. I would only caution people in not taking Law of Attraction to an extreme as their book does when it argues that a victim actually attracts the robber. This is basically blaming a victim. We need to instead focus on compassion for ourselves and others. If the Law of Attraction is used to justify attitudes that are non-compassionate then the Law may give some measure of success at a personal level yet it may fail in our responsibility as human beings. We need to grow in character and in our heart not just in our thoughts.
I also recommend "Nexus: A Neo Novel," which is an amazing journey of transformation. Logan Andrews a journalist living in California is devastated by a number of losses. He is drawn to a retreat intended to help people overcome pain where he finds many spiritual and psychological insights, yet he struggles within himself to overcome personal doubts and hopelessness. The book shows that even with understanding principles such as the law of attraction, we need to change our mental thoughts through life experiences before change can truly occur at a deeper level.
Book Review: great stuff loads sence Summary: 5 Starsthis makes loads sence to the ones who are spiritual and even open the eye of the none believer, we are all energy attracting the energy from the universe,if we use our thoughts with love, another eye opener is
[the calling of your true self] wrote for you to understand, and who we all are, i have read both mixed together they will make you think, that every thought is picked up
