Book Reviews of The Legend of Witch BaneBook Review: A Fascinating Tale Summary: 5 Stars
Ten-year-old Prince Kòldobos is on a mission to save the kingdom of Kaldan as well as his parents lives. It is an awesome mission, an adventure of a lifetime that pits the classic forces of good against evil. Can a young boy and his two sisters crush the evil might of Queen Rhiannon? A duel of love versus hate ensues and only one can become the victor. Is love enough to provide a young boy with the strength to defeat the mighty sorceress? Is it enough to give this young boy the courage, the commitment and the ability to believe in oneself, all which are essentials to survival?
The Legend of Witch Bane is the story of innocent adventures of three young people, the treacherous lands they traverse, and the fascinating characters they encounter, like the elves, the goblins, the werewolves and the dragons. It is also a legend of a powerful sword that Prince Kòldobos discovers quite by chance on his adventures and the magical powers it holds. The Legend of Witch Bane is also a journey of self-discovery as three young people mature in their understanding of the world around them and their place and power in that world.
There is something very comforting about reading a book where good can triumph over evil and love can conquer all things. Kevis Hendrickson has woven a classic fairytale that captures the reader from the very first page. It is the type of tale that one would share, sitting comfortably beside a warm fire on a cold winter's day. It is a tale told in the classic form of a fairytale, a myth of awe-inspiring adventures, fierce battles, strong emotions, and enchanting characters. Hendrickson knows his fairytales, so it is not surprising to find suggestions of other great tales, like Excalibur and Little Red Riding Hood, all cleverly interwoven into his story.
What a powerful story to share with young people; a story of how love can conquer anything and beat all the odds! This is a refreshing story and an amazingly good read. The Legend of Witch Bane is highly recommended by: Emily-Jane Hills Orford, Allbooks Reviews.
