Book Review: Classic Bryson
Summary: 4 Stars
I've just finished reading 'Thunderbolt Kid' and I was very impressed! Bryson's memoir is clearly a love letter to his childhood, and one which is not only amusing, but often poignant. My only quibble is that the book feels shorter than his travel books, but the content is on a par with some of his best works(I laughed out loud at several points). It was also great to see the much referenced Des Moines in more detail, and to some extents it reminded me of Garrison Keillor's Lake Wobegone, albeit in actual existence! All in all, this is classic Bill Bryson, and I firmly recommend it to fans and non-fans alike.
