Book Reviews of The Lions of Lucerne (Scot Harvath 1)Book Review: Lions of Lucerne Summary: 1 Stars
Great story if you're a fan of Mighty Mouse. Nothing of value that I could find, and I'll stick to Vince Flynn.
Book Review: Lions of Lucerne !!!! Summary: 5 Stars
A fantastic read! Recently finished the Vince Flynn (Mitch Rabb) series. Brad Thor's character is equally exciting.
Book Review: Looking for a thriller with a twist? Summary: 3 Stars
If you, in a space of 2 weeks, had 27 attempts to kill you, by the world's finest and best trained assassins, and you survived every attack, coming through without even being critically wounded, you would either be: 1) very, very, VERY lucky, or 2) you would be superhuman, testosterone-fueled Scot Harvath - America's best Secret Service Agent.
Though the first few chapters are 'slow out of the gate', this thriller takes off fast and furious. Brad Thor's first novel has all the characters needed: a squirrelly V.P., scoundrel Senators, Swiss mercenaries, conniving rich, befuddled FBI and a very beautiful Swiss agent named Claudia .
You cannot help feeling that Brad Thor wrote this prose with a screenplay in mind (Brad Thor is host of the PBS TV series 'Traveling Lite'), you almost can hear a director yell "cut" at certain places in the story. And though
Scot Harvath is the superhero, he fails both the plausibility and reality check. But read on, the action keeps you engaged until the too predictable ending.
A solid airplane read for those that need lots of action and escape. Recommended .
Book Review: Not What I Was Hoping For Summary: 1 Stars
Any comparisons to Vince Flynn or Robert Ludlum are WAY off base. The dialog was brutal, at times cringe-inducing, the storytelling weak. The main character (Harvath) is not compelling at all, the rest of the characters are one dimensional. Perhaps Thor gets better in later books, but I'll take Mitch Rapp any day of the week over Harvath. Was a chore to complete....
Book Review: Not good at all Summary: 2 Stars
This review is on the Kindle version. I am still trying to get through this book. It is horrible. The hero of the story is both a moron and super man. I have placed this book down a number of times due to the frustration of the hero's actions. I have actually found myself saying out loud thing like "Oh my God", "There is no way that would ever happen", or "Get the hell outta here" right before I put the book down. I keep picking it back up not because I think it is going to get better, but because I want to see what stupid non-SEAL type action the bonehead hero is going to do next.
If you like thrillers I highly suggest Vince Flynn, Daniel Silva, or Brian Haig before wasting your money on this series. Unfortunately, the joke is on me because I have already read all the books by these 3 authors and I bought this book and the author's second book at the same time. Hopefully the next one is better, but I have doubts. I gave this book 2 stars because it did seem that there were not nearly the number of grammatical errors that are normally part of the Kindle books.
By the way, I have read a number of bad books. It has to be extremely bad for me to actually take the time to write a review.
