Book Review: Little Prince named book of the century! Summary: 5 Stars
The Little Prince was named the book of the century in France today, December 21, 1999. The Old Man and the Sea came in second. I must agree with the French since The Little Prince helped me find my husband 30 years ago when it was my official "interview" book. For almost 25 years, I read The Little Prince aloud to my high school students each spring. There was never a dry eye in the house when I finished. A student made me a wooden "boa constrictor swallowing the elephant from the outside" which I still proudly display in my office. Great for all ages, all philosophers. Perfect for those Harry Potter, Wind in the Willows, and Hobbit fans.
Book Review: Love It Summary: 5 Stars
This is a lovely story. I followed the advice of other reviews and got the original translation rather than the newer one. This meant that I had to find a used copy, which wasn't difficult and the buyer got it to me quickly and in good condition. This is a book that will be kept and cherished forever
Book Review: Love is Most Important Summary: 5 Stars
I read this book whenever I see myself drifting away from the belief that loving is the only way to bring deep meaning and fulfillment to our lives. The Little Prince helps me see that love is worth the risk even if loss is inevitable. What is most important is to put aside our narcissism, lust for power, and money and focus on loving. Loving is truely a "matter of consequence".
Book Review: Most excellent Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first time reading "The Little Prince", and I've found it to be outstanding - even as an adult. It has truly been an adventure reading it, and I look forward to keeping and sharing the book for many years. Highly recommended.
