Book Reviews of The Little PrinceBook Review: A Time Tested Classic Summary: 5 StarsIf I was stranded on a desert island and could only take one book with me, it would be this one. It does not matter how many times I read this book over the years, every time I pick it up, it is as if I was reading it for the first time. I realize something new and profound with every reading.
This little book is so compact with depth of meaning and wisdom, it is truly as timeless as wisdom itself. If you know of any child, please get them a copy of this book. It is one of those magical tales that is destined to become a lifelong favorite for them.
No wonder it is actor James Dean's favorite book.... and I'm not one to argue with James Dean.
Book Review: Love the BOOK Summary: 5 StarsWill be using it along with the Little Prince mug, bowl, and dish as a baby shower set. Thank you MB
Book Review: Alas. Summary: 3 StarsThis translation removes so much of what makes "The Little Prince" such a lovely story. Read the Katherine Woods translation if you can find it. She manages to keep the poetry and the French construction in a way which makes the story much more dear.
For example, from the first page - "I pondered deeply, then, over the adventures of the jungle." is hers, vs. "In those days I thought a lot about jungle adventures..." from Howard.
Book Review: Too cool Summary: 5 StarsMy son read this book in school and he absolutely LOVED it. For those people who are just reading for leisure, there is very bitter satire in this book. This is fun to find. There is also a very inspiring theme.
Book Review: Delightful reading for young and old. Summary: 5 StarsThis book is a must for readers young and old. With our world being in such turmoil at this time, taking a magical trip with The Little Prince will delight the young; and for the mature reader give pause for thought as to what is really important in our lives right now.
