Book Review: "Living Dead" does not equal Zombies!
Summary: 2 Stars
I purchased this book as a fan of zombie fiction, looking for stories about zombies and the people trying to survive them. This book has little of any of that to offer my fellow fans of zombie fiction. Few of the stories have anything to do with actual zombies(being "living dead" does not automatically make them zombies!), and fewer still are actually well written and interesting. I would skip this book unless you can get it for free for the few good stories contained within.
Interestingly, with this book I also purchased 'Wastelands', which is a collection of post-apocalyptic short stories put together by the same editor(John Joseph Adams) that did 'the Living Dead', and it is actually quite good. The stories are actually about various post-apocalyptic scenarios that would appeal to fans of the genre.
The Living Dead just really misses the mark as to what appeals to zombie fiction fans.
