Book Review: A hungry monster in a lake! What more could you want?
Summary: 4 Stars

This was a very fun and fast read that was part adventure, part horror, and part historical. This was a great take on the Loch Ness Monster legend and taught me a lot of interesting facts about Loch Ness, Scotland, and its history. It is definitely reminiscent of Jaws, but a lot more mysterious. It has just the right mix of fact and fiction to make a totally plausible adventure. Good book!

Book Review: AWESOME
Summary: 5 Stars

This book has gone down as one of my top five favorite books. I love this author and he has overtaken as my favorite. Great book with great action. He has the ability to make the unbelievable believable. I mean the theory that he promotes in this book and the way he writes it really makes it seem like the real Nessy theory. Great characters that are given great back stories so you really get attached and care about their actions.

Book Review: About 50 pages too long, but still a good read
Summary: 3 Stars

I found the "diary" part to be totally unecessary and quite a distraction. I ended up skipping over those parts too. The plot of the book is a good one, but it gets bogged down by too much information about the history of the Knights and the description of some scenes. Still once it gets going it is a pretty good read and like other reviewers have written the main character, Zach Wallace, is quite funny at times. It ends very lightheartedly which surprised me, because I thought for sure one of the main characters was going to get killed. If you are a fan of the Meg series I recommend this book, if not I recommend the Meg series first and then you can move on to this one.

Book Review: Alten Does It Again!
Summary: 5 Stars

Alten is a fantastic author and fellow teacher. I have enjoyed his thrill a minute reads for years now and am always impressed by his ability to weave a story in a way that makes both science fiction and science fact amazingly readable. The Loch while not my favorite of Alten's books is an excellent summer read for fans of science thrillers. I highly recommend the book.
