Book Reviews of The LochBook Review: Fun Read! Summary: 5 Stars
If you are looking for a really entertaining read, this is it. I enjoyed the story, the setting, and the characters. I have always wanted to believe in "Nessy", and Steve Alten made it possible. This was the first Steve Alten book that I read, and it was probably the best one. Reads like a rocket, better have time. Enjoy!
Book Review: Good Summary: 4 Stars
As with the MEG series, the hero is too irresistible to women. They literally through themselves at Zachary Wallace several times throughout the story. That is my only complaint, the Salmon incident aside.
Book Review: Great Book Summary: 5 Stars
First of all I read for escapism...and this book was a great way to escape from the reality of Afghanistan (I'm active duty USAF)if only for a short while. I think Steve Alten has a great imagination and he really does his homework before writing his stories. His theories are interesting which is why I enjoy his writing. I became hooked on the MEG series after reading the first one. I read the first chapter of The Loch online and decided I had to get it. I started to read the book the day I received it and I didn't put it down until I finished it. I thought it was an outstanding story. His idea about the origin of the Loch Ness monster was very unique and shows an ability to think outside the box. I'm not one to dissect someone's work and critique every little thing. Steve the book was great...keep the stories coming. Guys like me who are away from home always enjoy a good book .
Book Review: Great book..... I read it twice. Summary: 5 Stars
This is a really good, well thought out story. It had me thinking, "hey, this might actually be possible". He must really do a lot of research before he starts a book. It's a thrilling story while at the same time not being to far out.
Book Review: Here nessie nessie Summary: 5 Stars
This is a monster book!
It does not disappoint.
There are beautiful women (read damsels sometimes needing rescue), scientists, mad scientists, crazy locals (read somethign akin to grubby peasant types with pitchforks), and the monster.
Nessie is not a sweet cuddle bug. It is a dangerous creature that is quite upset. It is on a rampage and people are dieing.
The cover blurb compares this book to King Kong. That may be over hype, but I'm not quite sure.
The story goes as follows: Marine Biologist Zack Wallace is a world class scientist. He has developed a lure that allows him to photograph the elusive giant squid. There is a terrible accident 3000 feet underwater.
Zack's head is a bit screwed up. He finds he is afraid of the water, and eventually ends up at Loch Ness. Now the reall fun begins.
This is a page turner that will keep you reading deep into the night. You might think you're safe on land, but you never know with this book.
This is one of the better books to show up this year.
