Book Reviews of The Lost Colony (Artemis Fowl, Book 5)Book Review: Artemis Fowl to the rescue... again!!! Summary: 5 StarsI admit to being an Artemis Fowl fan. I love the characters, the plots, and the new worlds, beings, and technologies dreamed up by author Eoin Colfer.
The Lost Colony is the fifth book in the series. It covers about 3 years of Artemis' life (you'll learn what this means). In the meantime, this youthful EX-criminal mastermind sacrifices much to save one of the fairies from exploitation and destruction... the demons. Artemis travels from Europe to Taiwan, to a lost island in another dimension (the "lost colony" of the title), and to... another place and time.
Colfer continues to introduce his faithful readers to new characters, new technologies dreamed by by Foley, and levels of heroism worthy of the erection of statues. Be warned... a character you love will die in this book!
I don't know if you need to have read the previous four books to get the "flavor" of Artemis Fowl. I think it would help.
Enjoy this adventure... for all those readers with active imaginations!

Book Review: Artemis Fowl's Save Summary: 4 StarsArtemis Fowl's Save
Artemis Fowl's life is perfect. Well, at least it is in his mind. He has fairy friends lots of money, and he is a genius. The lost colony, a fiction novel by Eoin Colfer is about a 16 year old genius who has saved the world multiple times. This time, however, he must save a world that is stuck in time and space- the demon world.
Artemis Fowl has made a chart which enables him to see where demons will materialize. He goes to a theater expecting to see a demon appear on stage, but then he sees a girl with a mischievous look on her face. She looks as if she has a plan. She does, and she executes it perfectly. She has captured a demon and now it is in her care. Artemis Fowl then realizes that there is another genius in his presence, a 13 year old girl. Artemis has to save the demon from the girl, save the girl from a maniac, and to top it all off, he has to save the demon race!
The Lost Colony was exciting, mysterious, and intense. I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes fiction and to people 13-15.
Book Review: To Save a Colony, or Perhaps Just Your Life Summary: 5 StarsTo Save a Colony, or Perhaps Just Your Life
Artemis is rich, he is also smart. What he doesn't have are friends, because he sits at a computer thinking up plans every day. Everything is fine until the day he decides to capture a demon. The demon gets away and from then on, everything gets worse. He doesn't quit though. He keeps on trying to capture it, even when it looks like he has run out of ideas.
While Artemis is trying to capture the demon, the demon falls into other peoples hands'. They plan on doing the same thing Artemis is trying to do. Throughout the book we see what the demon is thinking, and what people from his planet are thinking. The book takes place in more than one period of time.
Eoin Colfer the author of Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony really makes the reader feel like he is watching all of this happen from the sidelines. I recommend this book to anyone who has a strong vocabulary, and for people who like fantasy. This book is pretty good.
