To Save a Colony, or Perhaps Just Your Life

Artemis is rich, he is also smart. What he doesn't have are friends, because he sits at a computer thinking up plans every day. Everything is fine until the day he decides to capture a demon. The demon gets away and from then on, everything gets worse. He doesn't quit though. He keeps on trying to capture it, even when it looks like he has run out of ideas.

While Artemis is trying to capture the demon, the demon falls into other peoples hands'. They plan on doing the same thing Artemis is trying to do. Throughout the book we see what the demon is thinking, and what people from his planet are thinking. The book takes place in more than one period of time.

Eoin Colfer the author of Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony really makes the reader feel like he is watching all of this happen from the sidelines. I recommend this book to anyone who has a strong vocabulary, and for people who like fantasy. This book is pretty good.

Book Review: Not quite up to the standards of previous Artemis Fowl adventures!
Summary: 3 Stars

As my title indicates, I was a little disappointed in this latest offering from Eoin Colfer.

On a positive note, the writing was fast paced, witty and full of the usual unexpected twists and turns that surround Artemis and Holly. Then throw in characters like Diggums, Doodah Day and Foaly, and you have all the necessary ingredients to make a interesting A.F. adventure.

However...although this book started of well (typical of all the Artemis Fowl novels), the plot and quality of story telling seemed to change (and not for the better) about half way through. It was at this point, (SPOILER...) Artemis, Holly and the others with them, had to start to travel through time and space; and while this sounds like it should be very interesting, I found it to be somewhat out of context with the rest of the novel (and in fact other A.F. books). As a consequence I struggled through the last third of this book and (unlike other A.F. books) was actually glad to be finish this one.

Not a bad book; just not as good as the others. 3 Stars

Book Review: Another great adventure!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Once again, both Eoin Colfer and Artemis Fowl show their genius and wit, and with more characters added to the mix this time; it's a great read, and a wonderful appetizer for the adventures to come, for they shall come!! Now that Artemis has a girlfriend as smart as himself, and little twin brothers, the next one is sure to be a wonderful surprise.

Book Review: Great for all ages
Summary: 4 Stars

The Atemis Fowl series is advertised as a children's series but they are written for people of all ages. The plots are well developed and the characters are far more complex than one would expect. The books are science-fiction fantasy with a great assortment of imaginative characters. This book is not as good as the first book but it is still a great book. It is important that a reader starts at the beginning of the series or much of the humor from the character's evolving relationships will be missed.

Book Review: the best one
Summary: 5 Stars
