Book Review: The Lost Warrior: Graystripe
Summary: 3 Stars

I don't like this book, really. They could've made it better but they didn't. I finished it in less than 15 minutes. This book is in manga style and I think the drawings are off. What's with Feathertail with the fluffy thing on her head. Feathertail does not look like that. Also, if you put this book into a real story, it would probably be only like 3 chapters long. The plot isn't that big. I expected something better, with more answers to questions. You don't need to buy this book. YOu can just go the library or the bookstore and read it there and I bet you won't want to read it ever again. Well that's how I felt.

I'd give this book C average.

Book Review: Coulda been better, coulda been worse
Summary: 3 Stars

First of all I must say that Dapplewing's review is very accurate. All the cats look really bad. Brightheart, horribly scarred from a dog attack, is depicted as a perfectly normal cat with one eye closed. Its pretty pathetic. Then there's the matter of its astounding length. It only takes fifteen minuets to read it. Its not worth buying, just go to a bookstore and read it and when your done, put it back on the shelf. Buying a book that you can finish in the time it takes to get back home from a bookstore is like throwing your money away. The story doesn't get very far, but it could have been worse. Well, not much worse.

Book Review: The Lost Warrior: Why It's Not Up to My Standards
Summary: 3 Stars

The Lost Warrior was, all in all, a pretty good piece of work. It had pretty good punchlines, pretty good drawings, pretty good plot, pretty good portrayals. But the key words there are "pretty" good. Not fantastic. Not amazing. Not Fall-Out-Of-Your-Seat-Because-It's-So-Great. Just standard. And that's exactly why it will be overlooked by many readers of the series. When you read the manga book, it's over within 30 minutes at most. I finished my copy within 15 minutes and haven't bothered reading it again. Why? Because it's "B" grade material.

"B" grade punchlines. "B" grade drawings. "B" grade portrayals of the characters. "B" grade plot. It's just okay, not brilliant like the real series. The real series is so flat out wonderful that it makes you crave for more, but The Lost Warrior just doesn't do that. Graystripe, especially on the cover, doesn't look like anything that I had in mind. He looks like a demon cat that's seeking revenge with his glowering eyes and spiky hair like a punk rocker. In the books, Graystripe was always a kind, caring, funny, friendly type that I thought of as a nice tabby with soft eyes. But the manga does the character no justice at all. In the manga, Graystripe is even mean to his friends, such as Millie, and he doesn't even want to try to go home.

That brings me to Millie. I have to be blunt-what the HECK is up with that wierd "M" on her forehead that makes her look like her owner decided to draw on her with a magic marker one day. She's just so overly peppy and obnoxious and it gives me a headache. In the real series, she comes across as meaner. And how could Graystripe fall in love with her when he still loves Silverstream? That's why I hated Crowfeather. One month after Feathertail dies, he runs off with Leafpool. But I don't HATE Millie. She's not overly stupid like Leafpool is. She'd better not have kits with Graystripe though.

Feathertail has the weirdest fur in the manga...what's with the weird poofball of hair on her head and her long eyelashes!? And the other cats just look demented.

As a whole, The Lost Warrior is just a "B" grade manga. Don't expect anything more...or anything less.

Book Review: The Lost Warrior
Summary: 5 Stars

I actually bought this for my wife who likes the Warriors series of books; she has them all. I thought I would give it a read and liked it very much. I am now patiently waiting for the next volume.

Book Review: GrayStripe
Summary: 5 Stars

This book was very interesting. When GrayStripe disappered, and then the manga was made, it added a cool twist. One thing that'll keep us waiting is what happens to his partner. I'm impatiently waiting for The Warrior's Refuge.
