Book Review: ....you shall know them by their fruit

What continues to amaze me is how twisted Ravi Zacharias' beliefs and theories are and how many seemingly very intelligent people are duped by his narrow-minded drivel (In fact, in past searches on the internet, I found very few criticisms about him). Maybe people are fooled by Dr. Zacharias because he is one of the most clever deceivers around (he deceives even himself). Dr. Zacharias is a master at half-truths which gives his words the illusion of creditability and legitimacy. In addition, Dr. Zacharias is a gifted speaker, a scholar, a solidly intelligent writer and has enough of a handle on many spiritual paths (especially eastern religions) to create the impression that he knows what he is talking about. What is most disturbing is Dr. Zacharias possesses a high enough level of integrity, honesty, passion and confidence about his philosophies which proves to the reader that he is a righteous person that truly believes the poison he spits out ( and I have no doubt that he does). Make no mistake, as an apologist, Dr. Zacharias has one agenda in all his writings - to attempt to prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the Evangelistic denomination of Christianity is the only true spiritual path and all other paths (including other Christian ones) are false and wrong. This book is no different. Some other reviewers have already done an admirable job on picking out a few of Dr. Zacharias' inaccuracies in this book so I find no need to go into that here. Still, I must give credit where credit is due (hence the one star) this book is well written as all of Dr. Zacharias' books are (even if his theories are blatantly bigoted). Simply put, if you are a fundamentalist Christian you will love this book (as probably you do all of Dr. Zacharias' writings) which will help to feed your arrogant sense of spiritual superiority. However, if you are of any other spiritual path (especially Buddhist) this book may be very frustrating and irritating. I am a follower of Mysticism and find the Universal Truth in many paths including Buddhism and Christianity. I personally feel this book is not only insulting to Lord Buddha and his enlightened words but an offense to the powerfully loving wisdom of Jesus Christ. Shame on you Dr. Zacharias, I truly feel sorry for you and anyone who has been hoodwinked by your delusional and misguided assumptions. Beware, these fruits are poisoned.
