Like so many others, I had heard of the "Love Dare" book by watching the movie, "Fireproof." I ordered copies for all of our fathers on Father's Day. At least 20% of the men said "I have planned to get this book because I heard so much about it." It is a 40 day manual of practical items every man can do for his wife to let her know she is loved (Women can use it for their husbands). In good marriages, many of the ideas are already practiced, but the reminders are solid. If your marriage is struggling a bit, you definitely want to try this.Book Review: A Marriage changing book

Before me and my husband got married we saw the movie and was moved by it the challenge that we went right out and purchased two books one for him and one for me. We read each day of the book and we saw for ourselves what challenges and ideas as to what comes with marriage. We loved the book so much that after we got married we did the daily challenges that was there. And at the end of our day we both we sit on the sofa and share what we wrote in the book for that day. It was a very eye opener for us both for we both are saved born again believers but the book helped us in allot of areas. I recommend this book to every person who is dating and thinking about getting married and especially for the married people. The 4:8 Principle: The Secret to a Joy-Filled Life
The Love Dare is a wonderful concept and a great book. There are several things that make this book strong. First, it builds on a great movie, "Fireproof" that visually and dramatically demonstrates the principle highlighted in the book.
The next thing that makes the book strong is the layout and organization of the book. Each day is a mini-chapter with a brief call to action or "love dare" as the authors call it. Every single day is short, doable and still very meaningful. You can actually feel the momentum building as you move from day to day.
Finally, and most importantly, this book emphasizes a great truth that we belabor in my coaching practice at The 1% Club. This truth is that, "IT JUST TAKES ONE." This means that one committed partner can turn a relationship from weak to strong or from good to great by taking the initiative to LOVE their spouse (ACTION VERB) they way they promised they would when they recited their wedding vows.
The Love Dare is great because it coaches you, the husband OR wife, to love and respect your mate for 40 straight days regardless of whether or not he or she participates in the process with you.
And in the appendix, the authors offer some additional resources and touch on a very much misunderstood stumbling block in living a Godly life and enjoying a permanently rich marriage relationship.
