The book, like the movie, is fine on the surface. If your marriage just seems "ok" and could use a "pick up", this might be a good solution.
If your marriage is in dire trouble, like that displayed in the movie - this book is NOT ENOUGH. I didn't see anything in here that told the reader to COMMUNICATE the desire to work on the marriage. That's the FIRST thing you do when you want to work on a marriage is tell the other person your desire to fix it.
The biggest problem with this book - it's a checklist. You can't checklist LOVE. Aside from the Christian theme in the book, it seemed devoid of emotion. If I didn't know it was written by a man, I could almost tell by reading it. There was no emotion. It was cold.
If you are trying to save your marriage, please seek counseling and communicate with your spouse that you want to work on it. Don't hide that. Also, try to remember why you fell in love with this person in the first place. People change on the outside but their fundamentals don't change. If you fell in love because of who they were and who they wanted to be, you can find that again.
If you married because the person with you wanted two kids, a house and a dog - and that's pretty much all you had in common - then you need to seek out commonality to bind your relationship. If that commonality is church life, then great! You have to have something to build upon.

Excellent product. A refreshing new take on building up your marriage. I guarantee there's nothing like it out there. There are no generic/other versions. Not to be taken lightly. Don't buy it, unless you're ready to put your actions where your values are. I chose to purchase through Amazon.com because they are reliable and fast. I used super saver shipping and still got it quickly. Nice job Amazon!
