Book Reviews of The Lovely Bones: A NovelBook Review: A Very Touching, Unique Story Summary: 5 StarsThis book has a very original premise - the story being told by the child who had been murdered. It's very touching to see her watch as her family falls apart after her death, and to observe the progression as years pass. Not for everyone, but I couldn't put it down.
Book Review: The definition of Maudlin Summary: 2 StarsCorny and effusively sentimental, with a too-tidy ending that brings justice to all. I didn't connect to any of the characters because they were all entirely unreal in a stereotyped way, much like a 1950's sitcom. The one positive is that I felt compelled to finish it. This book is best suited for the person in your life that collects angel knick-knacks and needs to feel like "in the end, all the poor suffering children will have their own gazebo on a cloud!"
Book Review: Beautiful Book, in 1st Person Summary: 5 StarsWritten in the 1st person-present, it really takes you in the middle of the story. You see it, you feel it, it's such an engaging story.
Book Review: A somber look at a child's death and revenge. Summary: 4 StarsThe book is written from the view of the murdered child which is so unlike any book written before. The entire pros make you stop and think of the feelings of the child and the way the child leads everyone in the direction she wants them to go, this time it is all done the child's way. I have never read a more upsetting, yet inticing book in my life. I read this book in one read on a flight from Columbia, SC to Rochester, MN. It is a page turner and then when it is over you wonder how anyone ever harms an innocent little girl.
Book Review: as promised Summary: 5 StarsThis book was in great condition, as promised by the seller. Arrived on time, no complaints!
