Lovely bones is about this girl who is raped and chopped into pieces. Her dad and sister try to find out who killed her and in the process her family is destroyed.
When she dies it gives us flash backs about her life before. She wasn't a goodie goodie like every one thought she was. She was a real person who made mistakes and did things her parents didn't want her to do. One flash back she skipped class to go make out with a guy and almost got caught.
I recommend this book because its a great mystery and it explains what happens to a family and to the community when someone is murdered and raped. This book is a little different because it was written from a view of a dead teen. It makes you feel like anything can happen to anyone at any time and it's scary. "Listen to your feelings". Parents always say that when they give those weird rules. In this story, she should have. She was uncomfortable and she should have gotten out when she could.

Lovely Bones is a mixture of real life drama and mystery. Something new is constantly happening, always keeping you on your toes. New clues being discovered revealing the murder. With everything that happens each person's character is being tested more and more.
I love realistic fiction and being able to relate to what is happening in the book Real life issues that could actually occur. This book covers a numerous amount of topics that kids can relate to, from separation to your first kiss. It makes you feel as if you are a part of their life.
The one bad part of the book is that the ending was not good. I was not expecting what had happened. I, for the most part, like a book to be somewhat predictable, and this book was the total opposite especially the ending. The only good part about the ending was the irony in it.
If you like a book that is full of twist you will like Lovely Bones.
