Dont be put off by this book being too 'acadamia' Its not. You dont have to read Bronte or any other so called 'high brow books'to enjoy it. I read books not for the elegant prose but for the journey a book takes you on. This book was interesting and delicate in its own special way. You will think about the contents for a while afterwards. I do believe in life after death and this book was a delight to me. (and its true that once you start reading you can not put it down!!) This story is profoundly moving. A small girl murdered telling the tale of her short life from heaven. From the beginning you are introduced to Susie Salmon who although dead, is filled with hope and surrounds herself with love in her own personal heaven.
She watches her family go through the transition of her not being there. Watches silently as her siblings grow up and how desperately she wants to help them in making important life choices.
She also keeps an eye on the man who killed her and until the end, you are kept guessing as to what his final fate may or may not be.
Every word tugs at the heart and when you put the book down, you realise that forgiveness is not such a hard thing to do.

5 stars just does not do this book justice. Once in a while you read as book that leaves you speechless. This is that book. I was astonished by the way the gentle prose pulled me into what was, on the face of it, a maudlin premise. How wrong I was in my initial thoughts, the book simply enveloped me with a sense of hope. What an amazing novel, everyone must read this book as it is one in a million.Book Review: READ IT!!!
