Book Review: A Must-Read... Even for Seasoned Massage Therapists

For any massage therapist looking for: inspiration, motivation, information, how-to's, creativity, and someone who truly understands what it is to WORK in this industry. This is the book you need to read. I trust this book because Meagan has "put in her time", and continues to work while sharing the real truths about our profession.
I read this book in about 3 hours. Meagan's style of writing made it extremely easy to laugh, cry (a little), empathize, and get energized to invoke change in my practice. This book is so much more than just about making $100k a year. It's about knowing and understanding the reasons why you are in the massage/spa industry, why you are already successful or could be more successful, and how to get there. For those seasoned professionals, we all need a refresher and a bit of inspiration. Meagan provides that and more. For those of you just starting out or find yourself working to the bone, you need to read this before you work an hour more... and then think hard. Then, get motivated with whatever road you choose to go down.

The realness of her message and the voice coming out from the page speaks from experience. This quote spoke to me, and I found myself in the same position. As I quickly jotted down notes in my planner of things I need to change, buy and ask my clients about, I'm thanking her in my head for helping me think a little differently about my own practice. Her book will likely speak to you, as well.
Some reviews mentioned hotel massage and dismissed the idea, but Meagan provides various calculations of how to achieve a $100k practice even without hotel out-calls. The hotel massage aspect of our business is such a small portion of her book. Even if providing hotel massage is not your cup of tea, you'd be missing out on a whole lot of valuable information from her book.
A great read, and I feel energized to change up my practice for the better. It'll be a process, but every positive change is always appreciated by clients - it shows you care. Thanks, Meagan!
