Book Review: Very interesting, but a bit to US-focused

Starting with the author's battle with Crohn's disease, this book outlines God's intention for healthy nutrition based on the Bible. We learn that the world's healthiest people are those not eating the highly processed foods common in western societies. The book explains the importance of the GI tract for our well-being and raises thought-provoking ideas about hygiene 'the double edged sword'.The author gives a ?modern prescription for illness?, listing widespread unhealthy attitudes to nutrition, and looks at pros and cons of different popular diets, including Atkins. We read about people whose health drastically improved after following the Maker?s diet.
The actual how-to of the diet is given in chapters 8-11 and includes a chapter on herbs and essential oils.
The appendix contains meal plans and recipes as well as a section on where to obtain foods and other items recommended in the book. Unfortunately this is very US-focused and therefore little use to UK based readers.
