Book Review: Malaria AND Leishmaniasis
Summary: 4 Stars
Although the title of this book suggests that the focus is placed mainly on malaria, it is not until at least half way through that the discussion of this disease begins. A large portion is spent covering Leishmaniasis; its historical importance in epidemiology, treatment, the current situation as regards emergence and research, and an interesting theory on the extinction of the dinosaurs! The split with Leishmaniasis is no great problem, there is little disjointing and both diseases are covered in such a way as to provide an easy and enjoyable read for anybody interested in parasitology, epidemiology or vector control. The book is by no means out of reach to anyone with even a vague interest in the world?s diseases.
