Book Reviews of The Master Cleanser: With Special Needs and Problems

Book Review: A complete joke
Summary: 1 Stars

I dont know what I was thinking buying a book like this and thinking that it could be a healthy way to lose weight..... Like most americans I was looking for the easy way out to lose weight, instead I started watching calories and dropped over 55 lbs that way, forget this book and educate yourself on real nutrition, you will be happy you did.

Book Review: A great book
Summary: 5 Stars

For years I have been working out and watching what I eat. Nothing seem to help me to loose weight. I started having problems with my joints, ulcers, headaches, fatigue and other health problems. The 'Master Cleanser' book changed my life. I only did it for 15 days and I lost 20 pounds. I've never felt as good as I do now. I am 41 years old but I feel as if I was on my 20's. My joint and other health problems are gone. I have the energy I haven't had in a long time. This is a must to do cleansing. Specially if you are experiencing helth problems. I keep getting complement after complement from people that know what I looked like before. Thank you Dr. Stanley Burroughs.

Book Review: A great book/idea, but not for me
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought and tried this book and its fast on the recommendation of a friend, who was able to successfully fast for 6 days. My intention was to begin a healtheir lifestyle and thought this would be a great way to begin.

I couldn't do it. On the first day, I followed the instructions super carefully. It wasn't so much the lack of food--although my stomach did growl a lot. It was that I had absolutely no energy. I was a zombie at work, and fell asleep on the trainride home, which I've never done before. At the end of the day, I couldn't imagine going back to the same routine the next day.

Although I think that the idea of a fast has great credibility, it just didn't work for me. I think it's an individual thing, truly.

I've since done a two-month prepared meal plan, (super fresh, and low calorie, fat, etc.), and that gave me the kick-start to my new healthy lifestyle I wanted. I also added cardio workouts, and have eliminated most sweets. And I feel great.

I would have loved for this book/fast to work for me--I was so excited about it! If you've got the inclination, go for it, but do realize that each and every body is different, and yours may respond to the fast either super well, or not.

Book Review: A great diet! (Note-I'm being sarcastic!)
Summary: 1 Stars

Having the lemonade may be fine for people wanting to lose weight, but the diet the author recommends afterwards is horrible. To recap: NO meats, NO dairy, NO sugar, NO alcohol, NO processed foods (ie no candy, fast foods, potato chips, etc), and of course, no honey.
That leaves fruits, vegetables and grains only. You have to freshly prepare everything you eat. Gee, sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe if I could afford a personal chef I would do it. But on my own it looks like a lot of work. I'd still have to resist all the fast food joints I pass on the road all the time, and if I have dinner at a friend's or relative's I'd have to remind them, "Oh by the way, I can't eat that, and that, and that...." Even if it made you live to 1000 it wouldn't be worth it. Even the people who really believe in the diet must stray from it every now and then.

Book Review: A matter of will
Summary: 4 Stars

Having completed the full 40-day fast, I was amazed at how easy it was to follow. I felt no real hunger; rather it became a matter of will as to whether I would give in to old patterns of stress eating. Within the first ten days, I had more energy and felt better than I had felt for months before. The challenge now is to make the changes in my regular diet that will help me continue my path toward a more healthy lifestyle. THIS IS NOT A WEIGHT LOSS DIET and those going into it soley trying for one more quick-fix to their weight problem will be disappointed. As I said, it is a matter of will. What the Master Cleanser has shown me is that I can bring my will power to bear on any problem.
