Book Reviews of The Moment It Clicks: Photography secrets from one of the world's top shooters

Book Review: Good book, but not for beginners
Summary: 4 Stars

It has some good tips and great stories. I would say it's more heavy on philosophies than on actual photo how-to's. So this isn't the book for you if you're just starting out in photography. The tips are things like using gels in fluorescent lighting or put the reflector here. It's best for letting you in on how a successful real-world professional did/does things. Overall it was a good book.

Book Review: Every Page is an adventure!
Summary: 5 Stars

Each page of this book is like a little adventure. You get inspired by each new photo then are happily surprised to get a simple, easy to do trick (hint) to help you obtain the same type of fabulous results. Using normal light, objects and settings that are all around you to your advantage without all the technical stuff to memorize. As a novice photographer. I love that. Thank you Joe for a great book.
The Moment It Clicks: Photography secrets from one of the world's top shooters (Voices That Matter)

Book Review: This is a very good book
Summary: 4 Stars

I really enjoyed this book. I read a lot of reviews that said that the formulas for the pictures were incomplete, well they were. Think about your profession: could you make a person equal to you at that task in one book. This guy has been doing this 10 hours a day for years. Look at the pictures read the tips and go out and shoot. Have fun!! But you probably won't do it like Joe Mcnally.

Book Review: 2 Books in One
Summary: 4 Stars

It is a coffee table book laced with instruction. People will enjoy viewing the wonderful photographs in this book.

But don't buy this book for it's photography work alone. Accompanying the many excellent photographs are helpful instruction and advice from an experienced professional photographer. This may not be the best book for a beginning photographer but many photographers could benefit from the helpful advice in this book.

Mr. McNally shares many of his experiences and hard learned expertise. I find most of his advice being on the lighting end of photographs but there were some other helpful tips. Lighting being one of the most important pieces of photography it's only right to focus on this topic and I think many photographers will find this book insightful. Also the quick tips Mr. McNally shares with you that he has learned through experience or from his colleagues over the years in the business are very helpful to aspiring professionals.

Book Review: Really enjoyed this book
Summary: 5 Stars

I am now a Joe McNally fan. Watched the Nikon DVD, read this book. Entertaining. Informative. Good for learning what types of products he uses and enjoyable to look at the pictures with the stories of the shoot. Funny, sometimes pompous, sometimes self-deprecating, sometimes regretful, sometimes proud. I enjoyed the book very much. I found it inspiring in many ways.
