I read this book some time ago, borrowing it from the library. At the time I would have been a sceptic at Mel Levine's assertion that no children are lazy. However now having experience of a dyslexic son, I believe if I'd taken this book seriously I might have realised there was a problem earlier.
Mel Levine goes through a long list of reasons why children may not be seeming to do their best with their school work. It explains the child who just never seems enthusiatic to learn from when they start school, to the disillusioned teenager who just grunts.
