I read about Claudia Roden in The New Yorker, and ordered this book, and The New Book of Jewish Food straightaway. I must say I find her stories and anecdotes as interesting and informative as her recipes. There are many here that will appeal to vegetarians and meat (especially fish and fowl) lovers alike. The recipes are all simple, flavorful, and use readily available ingredients. Just reading one or two of them will have you heading to the pantry or kitchen!
