Book Review: Too many characters, not enough sex....

I just picked up this book because a friend recommended that I could learn a few lessons from it. What I have managed to cull from the very lengthy descriptions and family trees is that I won't be leaving my child in the hands of anyone named Abraham. I mean really, all these characters are so flawed, it makes one wonder how this whole Christianity thing ever got off the ground in the first place. Anyone ever heard of a plot line? Granted, the Jesus character is refreshingly naive and lovable, but the idiots he surrounds himself with really make you wonder if the Son of Man was fit to lead the Second Coming. If they ever made the movie version of this book, I think that people would get confused too easily between the characters, like Hezekiel and Hezekiah. I think they were father and son, right? Oh wait, that was Cain and Abel. No, they were brothers...does anyone know when the Cliff Notes version comes out? Now that would bring people to Christianity in droves... .
