Book Review: A must for those new to serger/overlocker use.

This book is a comprehensive guide to the use of a serger/overlocker, beginning with descriptions of how a serger works (which is very helpful in understanding what is happening as one sews), and how one's machine can best be maintained. It goes on to examine the full range of stitches possible, and explores how these can be used with a wide range of fabrics and threads. A comprehensive trouble-shooting section allows for the identification and correction of specific tension and/or threading problems. As this is a revised version of the original Singer volume, it is fully up-to-date and contains sections dealing with more recent five-thread overlock machines, and the coverlock stitch possibility that they offer. As with all the Singer sewing books, this one is lavishly illustrated with superbly clear colour photographs of every stage of the serging process. A must for those new to serging - the clear instructions and explanations mean that one can serge with confidence. Full of useful hints and tips.
